These job interviews are a killer

Guys I have been trying for a change in my career. Two months back, I got a call from a consultancy in Pune (from a very nice lady "Neha" of-course), regarding a job opening for a company there. I thought I will give it a try.


Within few days, Neha informed me that I will be having a phone interview. Things started off from there. I went through about five rounds of interviews with different persons.

1. Technical Phone interview
2. Video Conference - Tech Interview
3. Formal Interview from Tech Lead
4. HR interview
5. HR Phone Interview

In between, I had send them some documents also they asked for.But after that there was no response from them for quite a long time, close to a month perhaps.
Now last week, the HR lady from their Bangalore campus, called up saying that, I would have to "undergo" one more round of interview..... WHAT THE _____... (yeah that's what came through my mind at that moment).

She explained like, their company has company is having some regulation on recruiting regarding GPA and the college from which the candidate graduates. And it seems, my GPA is below their mark and my college is not in their top colleges list. And someone raised this issue in their recruitment meeting or so.

GAAWWDD.. what do I have to go through to get a job...??

She added this also..

You have to impress this person. It will be a technical interview and after that you may have to provide a write up about your college,

Ok, now things are getting weird, where is this headed? I mean when a person is experienced in some field. What does his GPA and college has to do with it. If a company is employing a fresher, I can understand that. But this is turning out to be quite ridiculous for me.

Now that interview is also over. I am waiting for their response. Lets see, if I need to give a "write up" about something else also. May be my country too. That may not be in their top list too.
